WY Special Olympics and USTA WY Partner

WyomingBW_FanLogoSmallThe USTA Wyoming District will partner with WY Special Olympics
in 2012 to conduct two (2) clinics for the athletes and one (1) training workshop for the coaches. For the first time, tennis will be a part of the WY Special Olympics Fall Games.

The Athletes Clinics will be conducted at the UWYO Varsity Tennis Complex during the WY Special Olympic Summer Games on May 11th. Anyone interested in helping, please contact Dave Boon

The Coaches Workshop will be held sometime during the late summer but prior to the Fall Games. The date and location will be determined in the near future.

Tennis will be a part of the WY Special Olympic Fall Games to be held on October 10 – 12th in Casper for all ability levels – 36’ courts with foam balls, 60’ courts with orange balls, and 78’ courts with yellow balls..

A new program within Special Olympics, called the Unified Sports Programs, puts a high school tennis player and a Special Olympian as doubles partners. This is a GREAT way to make a difference to someone in your community! Consider taking the Unified Sports Program on as a High School Tennis Team community project.

If you are interested in helping out with the Athletes Clinics, the Fall Games or with athletes in your community as part of the Unified Sports Program, please contact Dave BoonCLICK HERE to learn more about the WY Special Olympics.
