Wyoming District - 2003!!!
There are three important rule changes for league play this year. First - there is no longer a Sectional breakup rule - teams that went to Sectional Championships do not have to break up or move to a higher level. The National breakup rule is still in effect. Second - a player may play on two teams at the SAME NTRP level in DIFFERENT local leagues, but you may only advance to championship competition on one team. This affects those Wyoming players who also play in other Districts, and it should make it easier for Wyoming players to get lots of competition prior to our District playoffs. Finally, 2003 marks the first year for DNTRP in the Intermountain Section. Players new to the system may self rate. Your dynamic rating will be calculated after each round of match play. If your computer rating exceeds the disqualification criteria, you will be disqualified from further play. There will be more about DNTRP in the Captains packets.
We survived our first year of registration on TennisLink, and with our experience, it should be a little smoother this year. We have lots of opportunities and formats, and 2003 promises to be a summer filled with lots of tennis fun!! Here are important dates to remember.
USA League Tennis Mixed Doubles - for men and women over 19
Format - combined NTRP levels (6.0, 7.0, 8.0)
Players needed - a minimum of three men and three women
Team match format - three mixed doubles matches
Important dates - initial rosters due June 7, 2003
District Championships June 14-15, Casper
Sectional Championships July 11-13, Vail CO
USA League Tennis Adult League - for men and women over 19
Format - NTRP levels 2.5, 3.9, 3.5, 4.0
Players needed - five for 2.5, eight for all other levels
Team match format - one singles, two doubles for 2.5; two singles, three doubles for all else
Important dates - initial rosters due July 25
District Championships August 1-3, Laramie
Sectional Championships August 22-24, Salt Lake City
USA League Tennis Senior League - for men and women 50 and over
Format - NTRP levels 2.5.,3.0, 3.5, 4.0
Players needed - a minimum of six
Team match format - three doubles matches
Important dates - initial rosters due August 8
District Championships August 16 and 17, Cheyenne
Sectional Championships - September 19-21, Boise, ID
ITA Fall Mixed Doubles League - for men and women over 19
Format - NTRP levels - 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5
Players needed - a minimum of three men and women
Team match format - three doubles matches
Important dates - initial rosters due
District Championship October 11-12, Casper or Cheyenne??
Sectional Championship -TBA
