Throughout Wyoming, many individuals and organizations work to provide tennis opportunities to youth and adults in their communities. These are often clubs, parks and recreation, schools, teaching professionals, and Community Tennis Associations. When these individuals and organizations work together for a common goal of "growing the game of tennis" in their community the results can be amazing.
Community Tennis Associations (CTA's) play a major role in many of our communities in Wyoming and provide many important programs and events for our players. For instance did you know?
Alpine Tennis Association provides tennis programming for the Laramie Parks and Recreation District and also runs USTA Sanctioned Tournaments.
Casper Community Tennis Association initiated the first Junior Team Tennis Program in Wyoming and has also been involved in supporting the 10 and Under Tennis program at the Boys and Girls Club.
Cheyenne Tennis Association has been running the Wyoming Governor's Cup for years and it is one of the most successful adult tournaments in Wyoming. The CTA has also been involved in running leagues in the summer for their members and helping with a junior high school tennis program and numerous youth programs.
Cody Tennis Association provides a number of unique sanctioned non-sanctioned events. The CTA is also working hard at getting some indoor tennis courts in their community and is working with the USTA Facility Assistance Program on that effort.
Gillette Tennis Association is the newest CTA in Wyoming. Campbell County Recreation Center has five (5) indoor tennis courts. GTA has hosts several 10 and Under Tennis and Adult Family Fun Days and is looking forward hosting some USTA Sanctioned tournaments.
Sheridan Tennis Association provides a number of tennis events and will be hosting a number of events in their new indoor two court facility.
Sweetwater Tennis Association has been very involved in getting 10 and UnderTennis into their schools and parks and recreation programs by sponsoring and hosting several 10 and UnderTennis Workshops.
Community Tennis Associations are making great progress in Wyoming in bringing tennis to all populations!
