Josh Cossitt Named PTR Member of the Year

Hilton Head Island, SC - - Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) will present its annual awards this week during the 2013 PTR International Tennis Symposium.  The event, which includes 50-plus on court and classroom presentations for tennis teachers and coaches, a trade show and tournament, is being held May 2-5 at the new Sonesta Resort on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

Josh Cossitt, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, has been named PTR Member of the Year for the State. This award is presented to a PTR member in the United States who has shown dedication and diligence in promoting and supporting tennis and PTR.  

Cossitt is the Director of Tennis at Frontier Park Family Tennis Center and Cheyenne Parks and Recreation in Cheyenne Wyoming.  Cossitt has been teaching tennis for 14 years, and has been a PTR member for seven years.  He regularly hosts PTR certification workshops, and is an ambassador for PTR and the game.

His current work includes a coaching position on the Intermountain Tennis Association Coaches Commission that operates the USTA High Performance Regional Training Centers at Darling Tennis Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In 2013, Cossitt will continue his role as T\the Assistant Director of the Adidas Tennis Camp at Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, Colorado, and move into his fifth year as Head Coach of the Cheyenne South High School Tennis Team.

"I am excited to receive the PTR Wyoming Member of the year Award,” said Cossitt.  “It is unexpected and means quite a bit to me."

PTR is the largest global organization of tennis teaching professionals with more than 14,000 members in 117 countries. It has the greatest percentage of multicultural and women members of any such organization.  PTR is dedicated to educating, certifying and servicing tennis teachers and coaches around the world in order to grow the game.
