USTA WY Executive Director Position

JOB ANNOUNCEMENT  Executive Director – USTA WY District

 

The USTA WY District seeks a highly motivated, energetic, and knowledgeable individual to serve as the Association’s Executive Director.  The mission of USTA WY is to promote and grow the game of tennis in Wyoming.  The primary responsibilities of the Executive Director include:

  • Implementation and administration of all USTA programs in Wyoming, including USTA League Tennis; adult competition, sanctioned tournaments and rankings (adult and juniors); junior team tennis (JTT), PlayDays; Kids Tennis Clubs; USTA Schools programs; 10 Under programs; training; and the Wyoming Youth Tennis Foundation.

  • Day-to-day management of the business affairs of the USTA WY including budget preparation, fiscal duties, reporting to USTA WY Board of Directors and Intermountain Tennis Association as directed; grant distribution and oversight; IRS and State of Wyoming tax reporting requirements.
  • Securing sponsorships for USTA programs in Wyoming and collaborate fundraising for the Wyoming Youth Tennis Foundation.
  • Building positive relationships and support with public and private tennis facilities in Wyoming, teaching professionals and instructors, community tennis associations (CTA’s), Parks and Recreation programs, schools, and players.
  • Communication with Wyoming’s tennis community through maintenance of the WYOTA website, distribution of e-blasts, and E-newsletter.  Extensive statewide travel to Board meetings, USTA WY events, meetings with CTA’s, P&R, schools, WY and ITA Annual meeting and trainings as required; and USTA meetings.

Skills: Strong interpersonal skills; oral and written communications skills; organizational and time management skills; computer skills including databases, spreadsheets, word processing and publishing, email; creativity; analytical, planning, coordination, and goal setting skills.

Qualifications: member of United States Tennis Association, college degree or equivalent experience, general knowledge of the Rules of Tennis, knowledge and understanding of volunteer  program organization and administration.

Supervision: USTA WY Board of Directors

Compensation: This is a full time position.  Salary based on experience and qualifications.
